Re: The Firing Pin (Gun thread)
"Safety" in regards to personal safety and home security for this weapon is moot.
1 to 1.7 miles of clear flight path or line of sight is not easy to come by in an urban environment.. You would literally have to sit on a stretch of highway and that makes this weapon irrelevant as the system does not compensate for movement of a target. The most lethal home security weapon is 12ga buck shot... That requires no training either. |

Depends on the shooter experience and the spread of the shot.... With a shot gun I have about a 3 foot pattern at 30 yards (my fire place to front door) depending on the choke. If the pattern on the Judge starts to open too soon I don't see it as being as effective at that distance.
There is no hammer to pull to the rear on a shotgun either. A pistol still has to be aimed somewhat, a shotgun just needs to be pointed from the hip. 12 ga shotgun with this mount will have a tac-light to blind the intruder and a red dot laser so you can't miss. Attachment 7378 |

Up here in the Cinci area I live on a bit over half-acre and it about 30 yards from my deck to the back fence. Makes it easy for dotting the "i" on a number of varmints with my Benjamin Marauder .25 cal PCP without upsetting neighbors. |

Re: The Firing Pin (Gun thread)
Thumper hasn't bothered too much...yet. My problems have been with squirrels, possums and raccoons, but mostly deer. Damn deer wreck havoc on landscaping up here.
I pop 'em in the butt hoping they will go away and stay away. Hasn't worked yet. I could probably drop them with the BM .25 but they would probably run and die in the neighbor's yard, which wouldn't be good. The deer are so bad up here that many areas have controlled hunts (bow only) within in the city limits. |
Re: The Firing Pin (Gun thread)
We have had droughts the last few years so rabbits kill grass on both ends, what they do not eat they piss and crap on and that dies as well. I let my bulldog outside thinking he will run them off, I come out to find the rabbits eating my grass and my bulldog eating the handles on my pool pumps.
I give up |

As 3D-printed rifles get real, are changes to gun-control laws coming?
Reports of a Canadian man successfully firing 14 single rounds from a rifle manufactured by a 3D printer has the weapon’s American designer wondering whether the apparent breakthrough will force the U.S. government to rethink its ban on posting his plans online. While early models based on firearms designer Cody Wilson’s plans backfired or fired only once before breaking, the latest test appears to prove that homemade plastic guns are viable -- and that the Internet may have dramatically changed how we look at regulating the trade in arms. “I’m expecting some interesting decisions from the State Department soon regarding the legal status of the disclosures of the plans,” Wilson told FoxNews.com Thursday. Wilson and his company Defense Distributed released plans online last May for a rifle called “the Liberator,” which appeared strikingly similar to "The Grizzly 2.0" shown in a YouTube video being fired by a Canadian man. The State Department immediately ordered Wilson to take down his plans, citing national security.http://a57.foxnews.com/global.fncsta...e%201.jpg?ve=1 “Defense Distributed was put on ice and threatened with massive penalties … if we didn’t stop doing what we’re doing. We’re private developers who shouldn’t have government interference,” Wilson said. Read more: As 3D-printed rifles get real, are changes to gun-control laws coming? | Fox News |

The Firing Pin (Gun thread)
I figured as much. It's just that the general perception in the US is that Sweden is this giant commune with beautiful blond women and no one would ever, ever need or touch a gun. Besides, the only meat Swedes eat is salmon and the occasional Swedish meatball, right.

I've sold a few lately, the only redundant calibers I have are 12Ga and 20Ga.... Those are redundant because I have one 12Ga for hunting and the others along with my 16Ga are Winchester and Remington collectors I inherited from my father. |

Next weapons?
Mine will likely be 17 Win Super Mag. A 3,000 fps rim fire cartridge that is a varmit hunter's dream come true. The problem is it's so new only Savage makes a rifle. |
