Depends on the shooter experience and the spread of the shot.... With a shot gun I have about a 3 foot pattern at 30 yards (my fire place to front door) depending on the choke. If the pattern on the Judge starts to open too soon I don't see it as being as effective at that distance.

There is no hammer to pull to the rear on a shotgun either.

A pistol still has to be aimed somewhat, a shotgun just needs to be pointed from the hip.


12 ga shotgun with this mount will have a tac-light to blind the intruder and a red dot laser so you can't miss. Click image for larger version

Very open, I would say.

Up here in the Cinci area I live on a bit over half-acre and it about 30 yards from my deck to the back fence. Makes it easy for dotting the "i" on a number of varmints with my Benjamin Marauder .25 cal PCP without upsetting neighbors.

Rabbits kill my grass.... Ive considered my pellet gun but my daughters would dis own me.
