Official Cigar Thread - whatcha smokin'?

I'm not an everyday smoker, but I'll smoke a few during the month. I like cigars that are mild/medium. I don't like any that have a strong spice to them.

The best cigar I've ever smoked was given to me by a friend - it was a genuine cuban - Habana Cohiba Exelcior - it was mild/medium and so smooth. If I ever find any, I'm gonna buy a couple boxes.

That being said here are my favorite domestic smokes:

1) Rocky Patel Vintage 1990
2) Ashton Aged Maduro
3) Baccarat Churchill

All three of these are mild/medium. For the money, it's hard to beat the Baccarat. I'm always looking for new recommendations, so let's hear em!

Depends on what you're looking for for the price.

These are around $3 per stick and never disappoint.

These are nice 60 cent smokes everyday smokes.

Cu-Avana Intensus are great full body smokes that won't break the bank.

FF - Thanks for the rec. I'd rather spend a little more on a good cigar since I only smoke them every now and then, rather than buying cheap cigars for every day smokes. More important to me is the smoke itself - mild to medium with a nice even smoke and no spicy after taste. I've seen those Vegas 5's as a sampler on cigar bid.com - might have to check them out.

I smoke quite seldome but when i do I prefer a Cohiba Siglo IV. They usually come at $20-25 a piece but I'd say they are worth the money.

Cigar samplers suck. I find they are best straight out the box.
Trust me... they taste way better right out the box.

I've smoked so many over priced cigars too. If you are still smoking it when it is burning your fingers, they are a good smoke, period.

Can you get the real Cohiba anywhere in the US or would that be against the trade embargo against Cuba?

I've smoked some cheap cigars that tastes like they just rolled up some paper and put it together. But I can get a $3 Baccarat that will smoke evenly down to the nub. If I'm paying more than $7 a stick, I feel like I've spent a lot. It's really all about figuring what you like as far as taste and body are concerned, and there are some good cigars in the $3-$5 range.
