I had one of those Western Auto "Motorcycle" seats on my bike.

The ole' 5 tire plywood ramp was a bit too flimsy and shot me straight up in the air. Result was, the wind knocked out of me and "Motorcycle seat" was broke off, and my friends standing over me saying, "Do it again!"

I rode that bike without a seat for the rest of that summer.

The 70's!
I thought all you had then was a cup and ball or a stick.

Thank heavens for the 80's and SEGA

There was a TV show that came on; and for the life of me I can't remember the name of it but maybe some of y'all can help me. I will describe it.

It was made by the same people who made the Godzilla movie. It had a lot of actors from Japan in it but the main characters were Americans. There was a main "badguy that was done in horrible make up. But it used to scare the crap out of me. Aired around 77-79.

There was no video games. Kids had to use a wierd thing called imagination.

All of the kids in my neighborhood would put on our dads old Vietnam fatigue jackets and pretend we were on patrols walking through the woods, creeks and swamps.

BB Gun wars. (Would never happen this day an age)

Dirt clod wars with "The Super Slingshot"

Damn, no wonder I ending up joining the Army. All we ever played was "War" games.

I do remember when my dad brought home the ATARI system. me and my brother weren't aloud to even look at it for the first few months.

Ah but we DID have video games in the 70s. 1977 anyone?

I remember getting mine for Christmas, and I was 8 years old, and I remember thinking, what the heck is THIS thing? I blew it off and moved on to my planet of the apes toys...

...until my Uncle hooked it up and we spent the rest of the night playing it.

And really, the VIC 20 came out in 1980, so that's kinda like the 70s - close enough for government work I mean...

I remember the PONG game console. I remember finding ours in the "Junk" closet and asking my dad, "What the heck is this thing used for?" We ended up playing it into the wee hours of the morning.

Too many to quote on my phone...

1. I played outside. If it rained we played outside under cardboard, when the rain stopped we played in the ditch.

2. Megalon?

3. The Atari 2600 - ohhhh the memories.

4. 1977-1978 when Smokey and the Bandit replaced cowboys and Indians.

That was me in the late 70's early 80's (not that specific photo). Its also why I've had 3 ACL surgeries and can tell when its gonna rain 2 or 3 days in advance.

I may actually find some old photos and scan/post them. Just don't make fun of me because I look like Juan Epstien from Welcome Back Kotter.
