Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt explained Monday that Ryan Williams started over Beanie Wells in Week 1 only because Wells was battling a hamstring injury.
"Nothing more than that," Whiz assured. Williams struggled mightily against Seattle, gaining just nine yards on eight carries and losing a fumble. Wells wasn't much better, rushing seven times for 14 yards. In terms of fantasy value, the Cards' backfield is one to avoid with two gimpy runners in a timeshare. Source: Darren Urban on Twitter |

I can't talk much about fanatasy. My team was just as bad as our team. Fred Jackson hurt..out for at least a month. Atlanta has decided that they don't run the ball anymore so Turner got next to nothing for me. New England don't need Welker anymore, he only had 3 catch's. Gonna need some adjustments |

Jets Hill and Kerley had fantastic games and both available. Not sure Sanchez can keep delivering like that though.

Re: My FF Team
Hill may be waiver worthy. Whether or not he comes within an ounce of Calvin Johnson ability, athletically, they are freaks. It all comes down to Sanchez for Hill. He has all the ability in the world.

Re: My FF Team
I agree but hate to make a hasty move based off one game. Gotta wait to see if they can continue the success. I actually picked up Cobb with GB. I've had my eye on him and heard a bunch of good things. Rodgers loves him and he had a good game yesterday. I'm crap shooting with my RB situation. I was able to get Morris with the Skins. Hopefully he ca work out. I hate having to rely on a RB with Shanahan as the coach.

Re: My FF Team
I love the way they used Cobb Sunday. Line him up in the back field and let him move around the field creating mismatches. Being how crappy their running backs are, if it were up to me, I'd give him 3-5 carries a game too. He was an elusive running quarterback at Kentucky.

Re: My FF Team
I hate when the year starts off like crap. I hate to make hasty decisions but wth do I do..let Turner and Welker ride another week? If they have similar performances, I am screwed again for the week and start out 0-2..which is no good!

Re: My FF Team
You didn't draft them high to sit them on the bench.
Welker's non-involvement I read, was actually part of the game plan. They wanted to focus against their opponents' weakness focusing on running the ball and attacking the middle of the field as their linebackers made the adjustment. Hence the big game by Ridley and their two stud TE's. Welker should rebound... they aren't paying him all that money to play decoy. While Turner supposedly is on the decline, he essentially put the exact same statistics last year as he did in 2010... 1300 yards and double digit touchdowns. He also averaged 4.5 yards per carry. So while all these experts claim he's trending downwards, the numbers just don't back it up. Be patient and give it a couple weeks. Don't do anything rash. Even if you want to trade them, you don't do it after a miserable game. Let them build their value back up so you don't sell yourself short. And if they rebound, you might even wind up keeping them and ride it out. Chalk up the loss of your fantasy team like the Saints. Plenty of football left. |

Re: My FF Team
So who did you guys pick up for the first waiver wire session?
I wasn't able to land Cobb so I settled with Dexter McCluster for Jerome Simpson and Dustin Keller for Marcellus Bennett. Nothing significant. Dual eligibility is nice for McCluster is nice... can free up a roster spot. Keller for Bennett was pretty much a lateral move. I'll probably be switching TE's like dirty underwear in that one league. |
