Darren Sproles?
Howdy y'all in the Who Dat Nation! I was wondering if some one who is more knowledgeable than I might be able to explain to me how it is that Darren Sproles accounted for no points in Fantasy Football yesterday against the Buffalo Bills but he did have 4 receptions? I should also share with you that in the League I am in on nfl.com no points are awarded for yardage gained from kick returns or punt returns.
I tried to figure it out in my mind that perhaps he caught some very short screen passes and was tackled at the line of scrimmage or behind the line of scrimmage for losses? But he somehow broke even in terms of overall yardage? I watched the game on TV yesterday and it appeared to me like Sproles was gonna have a decent day Fantasy-wise but then when I checked my Fantasy team stats I could not believe that Sproles would produce no points on 4 catches? A head scratcher to be sure. I couldn't come up with any other scenarios so I figured I would float my question out to those more in the know than I right here on the black and gold website! Thanks in advance to any who might care to weigh in! Preechiate it! |

Re: Darren Sproles?
Yahoo has him with 4 points in a PPR league.
He gained 0 yards. |

Re: Darren Sproles?
mystery solved...
I did a little research and checked the play by play for the whole game and Sproles' receiving stats break down like this...1 catch for a 6 yard loss, 1 catch for a 7 yard gain, 1 catch for a 2 yard gain and finally a catch for a 3 yard loss. Add those numbers up and you get zero yards and no fantasy points in the pool I am in. Wasn't happy when I reached the conclusion but at least now I know how it happened. The knee-jerk thing to do would be to drop #43 but I just can't do it. Not yet anyway. Since I am a newbie to Fantasy Football I have to ask...what is a 'PPR' league? Thanks for your reply, TheOak. Much obliged! |

Re: Darren Sproles?
I would really like that(being in a PPR league) having Sproles on my roster, TheOak. As it is the Fantasy league I am in does not award points for receptions, only yards receiving.
Thanks again for your replies, TheOak, as I have also learned more about Fantasy Football from your posts. Very much appreciated! |

Re: Darren Sproles?
This is definitely a Fantasy Football Darren Sproles related question although this is gonna be buried in this thread. This is to TheOak and anybody(Who Dat?)else out there who has any thoughts on my question.
Let's get to it. Should I start or sit Sproles against the Jets when my alternative is starting RB Le'Veon Bell from Pittsburgh and Demarco Murray from Dallas? Murray I really want to leave in there(barring any health issues that might arise between now and game time) because Dallas is at home playing Minnesota and Bell is going up against a NE D in Foxboro that is allowing the second most yards per game rushing. However, the NY Jets D is the best team against the run(currently giving up the fewest yds rushing/game) and they are currently ranked 15th against the pass so I figure since Graham is not be 100% Brees will have to spread around the targets even more thus opening things up for possibly more targets for Sproles. Anyway, that was long winded but I hope y'all followed the question I was trying to float out there. Looking forward to any and all replies! Geaux Saints! |
