, I was so glad Michigan spanked those South Bend prima-donnas for the last time ... dude, I can't believe the travelling you do ... you gotta' tell me how Saigon was, I've been to Bangkok but never communist countries like Russia/Vietnam ... are the people as oppressed by the government anymore then in any other third world country?

Saigon was surreal. The city infrastructure was below third world- crumbling sidewalks, exposed wiring, people bathing in the streets...
the thing is, we stayed at a really nice hotel and had some fantastic food. Saw a couple of very good Vietnamese cultural shows, and Reunification palace was really cool, but Ho Chi Minh museum disappointing. I mean, the guy is god over there, but the museum was terrible.
We stayed 3 days and had a great time and before heading to Thailand

Wow, I would have thought they'd spruce up the place in and showcase it as a celebration of their 'victory'. I also heard Vietnam was some kind of tourist hot spot for Russia, guess they just meant the coastal resort areas. Where you heading next summer? Do you know yet?

Either one sounds awesome, though I'd lean towards Greece if I had my rathers ... so, the weekend trip to NOLA went well, I take it?

Yes- good time with the old man- we stayed a block from the dome, ate at one new place and NOLA (cliche', but the food is awesome).
He's from Mia, so the end of that game added to the experience.
