I did hear that Quebec is pitching for another team and I think the plan is to expand the league another two teams, though I think they actually ought to shrink a little bit.
It doesn't make sense to me from an NHL marketing point of view, moving Detroit to the East, but the West still has LA, San Jose, Vancouver, St Louis, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix; all marketable franchises, so I don't think the Western Conference loses that much. Plus, the Wings are slumping & they're gonna' get beat up in the East for a little bit after they realign.
Before this, I considered Bettman to basically nothing more than a Roger-Goodell-on-ice style of Commissioner ... now I think he's better,
