I hate to even admit that I got sucked into watching a reality television program, because I loathe those things. However, I did catch several episodes of that celebrity rehab show mainly because of Mike Starr. I am a huge fan of Alice In Chains and it saddened me to hear the conversation he had with Layne Staley's mother. He never fully got over his death and harbored a lot of guilt because he feels like he could have been a better friend to him. He felt somewhat responsible that Layne died. The bass guitar isn't going to sound quite the same whenever I hear him in any AIC song.

I know this wasn't him playing on this song, but it's probably my favorite by AIC. This is in Mike's (and Layne's) memory:

People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.
