And is the franchise tanking because of one player is gone, or because the coaching is bad? |

Re: Falcons coach Bobby Petrino has resigned
First the first question TR... when Petrino cut come of the players in which everyone was pretty close to, it definately raised eyebrows in the locker room. It definately caused animosity between the players and the coach... combine that with the losing, and there you have it. We only know so much about the situation there... and a majority of it is how the media feels like portraying it.
As for the second question, definately a combination of both. Petrino has made some very questionable personnel moves. When Harrington was actually winning games for them, he yanked him in favor of Leftwich. Norwood would is probably their best back, doesn't even get 10 touches a game. It's his job to get his players ready and focused... and that certainly didn't happen. We all know how much Vick meant to that franchise and their success... so that part is self explanatory. He screwed everyone from top to bottom. |
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
All little common sense goes a long way. Last edited by papz; 12-12-2007 at 08:38 PM.. |

Re: Falcons coach Bobby Petrino has resigned
I hate the Falcons and couldn't have wished this on any other teams but Bobby went around it the wrong way, he should have told his players in person looking them in the eyes and explain to them as to why he left them the way that he did but instead he left notes on their lockers saying he quit and pretty much they won't see each other face to face.
Now I do understand that Arkansas wanted him right away due to recruiting and also if he didn't take the job they would have looked at other possible coaches. With all this said I can't blame him for not wanting to coach the Falcons because it will take 2-4 years to get this team back on track. I'm sure the Vick drama around him made it easier for him to make up his mind in leaving... Did I say that I hate the Falcons? |
Rest In Peace JoeSam, thanks for everything my friend.

Re: Falcons coach Bobby Petrino has resigned
I can't believe professional athletes who leave at the first of $$$$$ are taking shots at a coach they didn't care about anyway, so it seems. Why are Joey people like Joey Harrington taking his dismissal seriously? The team is entertaining for all the wrong reasons.
