With advances in surgery and medicine, that same 26 year old with the same injury can be repaired (like a car!) and play another 15 years. How is that different from using steroids? How is anything that "enhances" your ability to play the sport, whether it's a surgery on something that broke, a diet to lose that doughnut round your gut, exercise to build up the muscles in your throwing arm, or steroids to maximize that exercise and build muscle, how is that an "unfair" advantage? If you are going to say that using Steroids gives a player an "unfair" advantage, then I believe that if they get injured and a surgery can make them as good as new, that is an "unfair" advantage as well and shouldn't be allowed. I'm just a lowly girly girl and don't know much about sports, it's just my opinion. |
