Question concerning penalties that do not affect a play

this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; Per G504. I guess the officials determined: The "roughing the passer" penalty happened after he released the ball but before the ball was intercepted....

That is one hell of a quick set of eyes. The ball is in the air for what 3/4 of a second 30 yards away?

Re: Question concerning penalties that do not affect a play

OK I may be sooooooo wrong. Here we go......
A defender continues an effort to tackle or "hit" a passer after the passer has already thrown a pass. (In the NFL, a defender is allowed to take one step after the ball is thrown; a defender is penalized if he hits the passer having taken two or more steps after the ball leaves the passer's hand.)
# No defensive player may run into a passer of a legal forward pass after the ball has left his hand (15 yards). The Referee must determine whether opponent had a reasonable chance to stop his momentum during an attempt to block the pass or tackle the passer while he still had the ball.
# No defensive player who has an unrestricted path to the quarterback may hit him flagrantly in the area of the knee(s) or below when approaching in any direction.
# Officials are to blow the play dead as soon as the quarterback is clearly in the grasp and control of any tackler, and his safety is in jeopardy.

So HELP!

Another take. I think (not sure) that running into kicker applies regardless of where the ball is or who then has possession. I think the play comes back together with a game changing penalty. So maybe ... STILL HELP!
