Sam Bradford signs six-year, $78 million contract

Rams signed rookie QB Sam Bradford, the No. 1 overall pick, to a six-year, $78 million contract, including $50 million guaranteed.

He'd better not bust. Signing the first $50M guaranteed deal in NFL history, Bradford can make another $8M in incentives. The 2008 Heisman winner will be in camp at the time St. Louis hoped -- ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Rams were targeting Saturday for Bradford to practice all along. Though there is concern about Bradford being a "system" passer, he learned plenty of pro-style concepts at Oklahoma, particularly early in his college career. We expect him to outplay A.J. Feeley in the preseason and be positioned to start Week 1.

The rookie pay scale needs to be fixed... and I think it will happen soon when the CBA is re-done. With that said, I think Bradford will become an elite quarterback in the league.
