Sorry SW, I hate Vick. Period. Therefore any one associated with him draws my same ire. Don't give a dam if the pope calls him, won't change my feelings. I don't pretend to forgive, God does that. And by the way, I hate Rothlisraper as well and I'm always the loudest anti-Steeler fan reminding everyone what his true colors are.

I forgive Vick but being given praise for doing what he should have done in the first place which is being a law abiding citizen is not worthy of a Presidential phone call. A Federal crime is a serious matter, so serious in fact that in some states your voting rights, serving on a jury, hunting, and even owning land can be revoked. It's called forgiveness, but with prejudice. You see, he's forgiven yes, he did his time, but the Federal government will always frown upon him no matter what he does. That's what prejudice is all about.

it's still the dept of corrections...we're to assume he has been rehabilitated and "corrected"...otherwise we shouldn't have faith in our system (which may or may not be the case...). regardless...i'm still kinda torn on the issue of vick...but who cares if obama called him.

As I stated, the Federal Government still regards Vick with prejudice. For the highest held public office in this country to go out of his way to praise a criminal for being "good" is piss poor leadership. If you are still on a fence then ask yourself, who deserves the call Vick, or, the person in charge of taking care and rehabilitating his dogs. |
