Atlanta torched badly chasing a Shiny Hood Ornament
The Falcons failed to study the Shiny Hood Ornament Man Law back in the 2011 draft. So they not only drafted wide receiver Jones in the first round, which is almost always a mistake, but also did the unthinkable to make it happen. They mortgaged their future, trading five draft picks to move up the draft board to grab Jones with the No. 6 overall pick. In other words, the Falcons made other parts of the team worse in the belief that a Shiny Hood Ornament would make the entire Atlanta vehicle run better. Shiny Hood Ornament, I like that. With that being said, Jones does look like he's going to be a great player.

Yeah, but not if Ryan can't throw the deep ball to him accurately. I can't tell you how many times I saw it this year, where Julio was basically streaking down the sidelines or behind the secondary WIDE OPEN and Ryan overthrew him by 10-15 yards, or put the ball way out in the white part of the sidelines where no one except the trainers and ball boys could get under it. He's just not very accurate. Most of what I've seen them do with Julio has been shorter or medium things, with him getting big yards after catch, and he really could be so much more of a threat than that. Imagine if Drew only threw 10 yard passes to Colston or Meachem and made them fight for the rest of their yardage, instead of hitting them in stride on the deep ball. Even when Ryan connects going deep, you see typically the guys have to do a lot of speeding up, slowing down, or running to get underneath it, which gives defenders a better chance.
