Report: Jets to explore Darrelle Revis trade
I know he is coming off an injury, but he would still be an upgrade!
********************************************************* Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports reports New York Jets owner Woody Johnson will explore trading star cornerback Darrelle Revis this offseason. RevisThere are many layers to this subject that need to be explored. But here are some immediate thoughts that come to mind. •You always start by following the money trail. And from that perspective, this is not a surprise. Revis will make $6 million in the final year of his contract. The Jets are approximately $19 million over the cap and need to slash salary. On top of that, if Revis returns to form, he could command one of the NFL's highest-paid contracts in 2014. The Jets are rebuilding and may no longer be an attractive option for Revis, who will surely have many suitors. It's probably wise for the Jets to see what they can get for Revis right now, as opposed to losing him to free agency next year without any compensation. •Speaking of compensation, what can the Jets get in return for Revis? It certainly won't be market value after a season-ending knee injury. Teams will be nervous about trading too much for Revis without knowing if he can return to Pro Bowl form. The Jets must try to sell low for the best cornerback in football. But as we mentioned early, the Jets are rebuilding next year, and it's best to get something. But what would we have to give up to get him.

Re: Report: Jets to explore Darrelle Revis trade
You would think the chance to play on a Super Bowl caliber team would get entice him toconsider it.
Hopefully he sees the benefit in playing for the Saints vs the Jets; plus I don't see a lot of teams beating a path to his door to sign him. |

Re: Report: Jets to explore Darrelle Revis trade
Revis is a headache. It seems every year he complains about his contract and even missed a bunch of games while he sat out waiting for mo' money. No thanks. Even if the Saints had the money I would hope that they'd stay away from him.
