this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; Goodell is effing clueless. This is just reaching the point of being outright silly. It's comical. Might as well call it the NO FUN LEAGUE....

Re: Officials warn players: Spinning the ball can result in a penalty
Before I say what I want to say I want to make sure that no one misconstrues this comment as a defense of Führer Goodell. You'll never catch me taking up for his idiocy. I just want to point out that all he is doing by enforcing these types of BS rules is conforming to the societal pussification of man. No bullying. Wah. No hitting too hard. Wah. No showboating (even if it's purely for entertainment value). Wah. Society has forced his hand. If he sat back and left it they way it was eventually the NFL would be shunned by a large portion of society. Hell, they're just a few more "people complaining" from being forced to rename a team (Redskins). If you think that battle is over, you're even more naive than I thought. I don't blame Goodell any more than I blame the parents that won't let their kids play football because "it's too rough". He's just a conformist just like everyone else involved in the pussification process.

Re: Officials warn players: Spinning the ball can result in a penalty
As far as the side show goes, I could care less.
Some of the more outrageous celebrating does lead me to view it as that player having more of a "look at me, look at what I did", attitude and mind set; over a team mentality... Put the sharpie up punk, you are 1 of 11 and you didn't do sh1t by your self.... This is not baseball, you cant score on your own. |

Re: Officials warn players: Spinning the ball can result in a penalty
T.O. and Ocho are just as upset, if not more when they're team loses a game. Nobody plays the game wanting to lose. And people who don't celebrate are just as prone to a me 1st mentality then someone who does. Its actually more commonplace then you think. Leaving a team for more money and going to the highest bidder is an indicator. Holding out on your team. Etc. Everybody is out for themselves and their future. Its a GAME. Goodell is a stick in the mud.

Basketball players are not disloyal because they play for a different team in the Olympics. When Graham or Moore score they celebrate but when the cameras are on them after the game they give credit where credit is due.. Drew... Blocking... Etc.. Brees breaks records and watch who he gives credit to and thanks. TO, Ocho, Sanders were all about the "me". You seriously have no reasonable retort for someone that changes his damn name to his number. That is pure azzhole right there. When they score they run around the field TRYING to get the cameras and spotlight on them selves. Have you seen Friday Night Lights? They all remind me of Boobie miles. Owens runs around with 5 carat diamonds in his ears but cant afford to feed his kids and you are going to tell me he doesn't only think about Terrell? Come on brother, your not that big of a homer. It is not a GAME. For you and I, we are watching a GAME, for the players and coaches it is their careers, their lively hood, it is what puts their children through school and food on the table. You can save the rest... It aint happnin. |
