ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the New England Patriots have released quarterback Tim Tebow:

Tebow admitted he wasn't sure if he'd done enough to stick Thursday night.

He was 6-for-11 for 91 yards, throwing a pair of touchdown passes and one interception, and gained 30 yards on six carries against the New York Giants. But he also was sacked four times.

"Go to sleep when I get home, wake up, come work out, watch the film," he answered regarding his immediate plans. "See what I did good, see what I did bad, try to learn from it and get better."

Tebow's 36.7% completion rate ranked last among all qualified passers this preseason. He's thrown for 145 yards, two TDs and two interceptions in three games, compiling a 47.2 QB rating. His rushing numbers are more appealing as his 16 attempts garnered 91 yards.

Its time the young man put his ego aside and started learning the TE position, if he wants to remain in the NFL.

I don't know for sure, but its been suggested several times that his NFL future is as a TE or H-back. Obviously its not QB.

Not surprised ... just a side note item but I read Matt Leinhart & Vince Young were cut as well. Two former Heisman trophy winners who can't throw.

No heisman winner forgets how to throw a football ... They get drafted to terrible teams with overconfident cheesy coaches that try and change their mechanics ... We know what happens when you let them do their thing ( spread option ) but bring him in as an h back

Seriously? He won the heisman because of his passing ability? Bilichick a cheesy coach? Your right, he ruined Brady.
