Jersey Confessions

Jersey's

I used the search function before I started this thread and I went back five pages...no luck.

It could be the woman in me, it could be NFL fan in me, it could be the wife in me looking for excuses to justify my jersey collection....he has his HD t-shirt collection.

Talk about your Jersey history.
First jersey...
Most expensive jersey...
Jersey regrets
...those jerseys you wish you purchased when player was current to avoid huge "throwback $$".
...those jerseys you are embarrassed to admit owning or you need to explain.

Your jersey collection... how many do you own?

I am currently looking for an authentic Roman Gabriel, LA Ram jersey for husband. He was a RAM fan in cheeseland (growing up).

My first jersey = Farve
My first Saint jersey = A. Brooks
Regrets: I wish I had a Reggie White jersey.
Jersey I have to explain: Emmitt Smith Cardinal jersey. I loved Emmitt but hate the Cowboys.
Most expensive Jersey: Jake Plummer Bronco Authentic Jersey for my godson. I am holding on to it for his 18th birthday.
Jersey I should own: My second cousin played in NFL but I was too young to appreciate it.
Jersey I am proud to own: Montana.
Joe taught me to watch body language on the field. Joe is why I love to watch Brett and Drew. Joe is why I rather watch Eli over Peyton.

Note: Loved to watch Farve; I did not want the Vikings to beat the Saints.

Snap, placement, kick by Hartley, and it is — AND IT'S GOOD!
IT'S GOOD! IT'S GUH-HUH-HOOD! Ha ha ha! Pigs have flown! Hell has frozen over! The Saints are on their way to the Super Bowl!

Re: Jersey Confessions

I don't buy or wear jerseys.. I also wouldn't buy a pair of Levi's is there was a chance I couldn't wear them next year. NFL rosters are top volatile. Even going with someone who used to be a Saint... Could flip out and say something stupid one day and I wouldn't be able to wear that investment again either.

Re: Jersey Confessions

I never really did the jersey thing. I have a couple of old school shirts with Sir Saint on them, one or two with the fleur de lis, and a "Cha Ching!" shirt from the Dome Patrol era, and those are what I typically wear to the games. If you look at really old film, people used to wear suit and tie to the games!

Re: Jersey Confessions

- The only NFL jersey I've ever owned has been #68, Frank Gallagher/Detroit Lions (several different versions) ... gotta' hang with the offensive lineman, .

- I'm not proud of this fact, but I once took a Joey Harrington/Detroit Lions jersey that was given to my son as a gift and hid it for several years until I was sure he wouldn't want to wear it ... man, I hated Joey Harrington, .

- The most I've ever paid for a professional jersey was the AHL East All-Star (American Hockey League) jersey of Brad Smyth (CAR) ... got caught up in a bidding war at a fundraiser and paid something like $350, but dammit, my little girl wanted that jersey, .

- The greatest length I've ever gone to in order to purchase a jersey was I wrote the manager of the Vasteras hockey club of the Swedish Elite League to get a replica jersey of Nick Lidstrom (DET) when he played there. I had to exchange USD for Swedish Krona and send a money order, et... did the same thing for a replica CSKA Moscow Vladimir Konstantinov (DET) jersey from Russia for my son ... my kids were the best dressed/coolest kids on the ice, .

- The jersey I wish I'd of gotten but never did? #9, Gordie Howe, Detroit Red Wings ... man, I loved sitting in Olympia as a kid watching that guy play ... or maybe a #6, Al Kaline, Detroit Tigers right-fielder ... 'dem were da' days, <sigh>.
