If your going to play literal with "would" or "want", then "bust" has no place in this season, for the most part its a youth movement. I also find a huge flaw in the theory that with out Drew Brees our defense becomes worse, our running game gets worse, Sean Payton becomes a bad coach, Graham gets worse, our receivers stop catching... The group that found Drew Brees and brought him to New Orleans will find his successor and we will be equally as successful. |

As much as I love Drew and hope he plays forever, to deny that a physical decline is likely at his age and older is wishful thinking at best, and to imply that our HOF caliber QB is not a key cog in our run at another super bowl or that those type of players are dime-a-dozen and easily replaced is a bit delusional. Having 2 elite players on the same side of the ball at the same time doesn't just happen to every team or many. It isn't luck, it's Sean Payton. Drew Brees wasn't elite at San Diego. Sean Payton adjusts our game plan according to rising and falling players and there is no doomsday clock on his success. We won a SN without Graham and Drew retiring isn't going to make us an 8-8 team. |

Yes, Coach Payton has some to do with Brees becoming a FHOF QB, as well as the success of Jimmy Graham, but by no means is Coach Payton solely responsible for that. It's purely a case of a "special player" (or two) joining up with a "special coach", and, yes, some of that is luck. I think that even Coach Payton, being the apparent football god that he is, would consider himself "lucky" to have those guys.
