Falcons offer Bush two years, $4.5 million
The offer sheet that restricted free-agent safety Rafael Bush signed with the Atlanta Falcons is worth $4.5 million over two years, a league source told The Advocate. The source also said Bush is hoping the New Orleans Saints won’t match the deal because Atlanta is offering a chance at a starting job.

Doesn't matter if we should match, if he wants to start then that ain't going to happen here, 4.5M is too much for a 3rd safety in our defense

Re: Falcons offer Bush two years, $4.5 million
Isn't any decent safety going to cost around $2M a year anyway? Why not retain a young guy that has shown promise instead of replacing him with a veteran that will likely cost about the same?

Re: Falcons offer Bush two years, $4.5 million
What veteran? We signed Marcus Ball to replace him at 3 year 1.5 million total around 500,000 a year

You can most certainly count on at least one more safety (probably a veteran) being added to this group. Why not Bush? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk |

Re: Falcons offer Bush two years, $4.5 million
I don't really care about what he said. He'll play ball for whoever signs him. As for the money, I don't think any other reliable backup will cost much less. Maybe we bring Jim Leonhard back for cheap. It just seems to me that during what everyone is calling a "super bowl or bust" season you'd want a better backup plan at safety than a CFL project and some UDFA to be picked up at a later date.
