I agree but I thought I heard the two (Smith And Dimitroff) both being on the hot seat. I just assumed they would both be fired.

2) His alma mater desperately, desperately needs him as a HC! Phone home Jim, phone home ....

Well Harbaugh hasn't even given SF a ring yet. And chances are he may not this year either because as it stands now I see SF not getting in the postseason. How would he do that with the falcons where there is another good HC in the division and knowing Ryan is not the better qb? Knowing no one wins this division back to back years also. I will say this, I think Atlanta will win the south in 2015 and we will have to win as a wild card. But they are not winning a sb and when they do I believe our FO will blow the team up.

We might need a new head coach if this Jekyll and Hyde performance continues.

True, but he did take a team that hadn't finished above .500 for something like ten seasons before his hiring & immediately put them atop the Division with a trip to the SuperBowl ... Failclown fans would take that over what they got now. I'm pretty sure he did the same kind of thing in college as well; elevating his programs to play above their potentials and overachieve somewhat.

It's more about his persona and coaching style over what level of competition he'll face, opposing talent, et... He is a proven winner (albeit an ass) and he wins on just sheer force of will and the ability to motivate those around him to buy into his program. It only lasts for a few years and is more suitable to college level and I may or may not have posted about that in discussions back in 2011 as that's about the time I joined B&G. Like a Red Bull/Monster, he'll pump the program up, but it'll eventually burn off & he'll wear out his welcome, leaving everyone fatigued, as evidenced in SFran.

He is the ideal type of coach if your program has hit the skids because he will come in, shake things up, restore order & discipline and get athletes to believe in themselves. Powerful stuff ... only you have to sell him your soul as he pretty much demands full control of everything.

So, that's how he'll do that for Can'tlanta, IMO. Not digging on SP or DB, it's just Harbaugh has a long history of doing it and there's arguably enough talent on any given NFL roster (minus OAK/JAX) for a coach of his caliber to reasonably be successful in a short amount of time.

Let's just hope for the sake of everyone involved, the prospect of returning to his alma mater & resurrecting their football program from the dead has vast more appeal than an NFL gig, .

Say it isn't so Mike! Not the "we're 1-0" speech in Wk #9! ... the guy with the Johnny Unitas haircut in the background is thinking, "Funny, I don't feel like 1-0" ... those silly Falcons, I don't want them to change a single thing, .
