Goodell serving another season-long suspension with holier-than-thou grandstanding. Finding a nice way to stick it to a small-market team outside of the NorthEastern US. The league office saying AP's reserve-list time would count toward his suspension and then reneging on that. Shades of BountyGate I say. It's a bunch of crap for AP and the Vikes.

Spanking a child is not a crime. Suspending the man for saying he spanks his child and will continue to do so is a personal matter between his spouse and state laws. Don't get why RG gets so off course. His lawyers are leading him down another dead end. What the man does in his own home is his business so long as it's in line with state laws.

These guy have a very short lifespan in NFL. In this case we're talking about a huge amount of money and that's penalizing his family way to severely. Goodell throws out these 1 year suspensions a float rider throws trinkets. Pete Roselle suspended three people for a season his whole career as commissioner, and they had admitted to betting on NFL games. How many did Tagliabu suspend for a season? Goodell is out of control. |

Re: Shades of BountyGate
Don't understand how you get to such a high position of authority (the Commish) and turn out to be such a inept bonehead, .
I've often speculated, "How 'bout the NFL hand out discipline similar to what it would be for an 'ordinary joe'?" You know, like what would happen to you or I should we be caught with banned substances in the workplace, beat our wives/girlfriends, fight dogs, drive drunk, spank our kids or any other number of personal/professional offenses committed by NFL players. Let the NFL Personal Conduct Policy reflect societal norms/common sense instead of one guy attempting to enforce something he obviously doesn't understand. It would go a long way towards eliminating the inconsistent punishments we've seen handed out during Goodell's tenure, IMO. |
