Re: Role reversal: Late call costs Cowboys
According to Officiating VP Dean Blandino, it was not a catch.
I saw his interview on the NFL Network. My thing is, it should never be ruled a catch. I am going to look out for that next season in every catch like this. |

Re: Role reversal: Late call costs Cowboys
I betcha Detroit believe in karma,, if the refs non calls didn't effect the Detroit game I probably will have sympathy for the cowgirls. I would've never suspect them to overturn that call after the early PI and flagrant fouls going in Dallas favor

Kudos to Mike McCarthy & his staff for the challenge if they did so in the knowledge that Bryant did not make a 'football move' after the catch, yada, yada, yada ... that's a pretty technical assessment to make in real time during the heat of battle. My guess is they just threw the flag out there & hoped for the best, . Couple good points I've heard since last week's fiasco and in this article are: 1) NFL refs are part-time, maybe they should consider full-time refs, 2) "All-Star" officiating crews for the post season aren't getting the job done., 3) the NFL rulebook is too voluminous for refs to properly officiate a game or for the players/coaches/fans to understand. .
