This year almost seems like its been scripted to a tee and the officiating is just aiding that process. Its all for Seattles own good, they dont want Detroit or Dallas going into Seattle because they could potentially beat them, so lets throw Green Bay there, a team Seattle would have better shot of winning against. Much like the crap that goes on in Denver, Manning throwing another post season game like in the SB to a team the NFL and that organization made sure got the 1st pick to grab Luck to succeed Manning. Other side you got the Patriots which has been aided by the NFL and Goodell the past 14 years.

They really turned it up this year.

The NFL is a reflection of their leadership. Sure, the Pats were within the rules but it was absolutely dirty, no way around it. Who effin does that?

The NFL is slowly digging its own grave on the way they call games. They stick by the rules on some things yet turn a blind eye to other blatant infractions. They have the best cameras in professional sports but refuse to review certain plays, especially in the playoffs.

They turned a blind eye on the biggest cheating scandal in league history, SpyGate, and handed down a $500,000 fine. Does not compute.

Baylor ran that play vs Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl ... IDK if it's dirty in as much as it's a college-level/trick play? Kinda' like how Matt Stafford (DET) signaled in a game earlier in the season that he was gonna' spike the ball to stop the clock & then plunged it in for a TD ... perfectly within the regulations, but was that a dirty play? Or just deceptive? Ironically, that was against the Cowgurlz also,.

I don't see the Stafford play the same myself.
The team shouldn't switch off and although the Stafford play.

While the NE play is legitimate, its definitely underhand and will be stopped in the post season.
I'd laugh it the Colts did it to them next week

That would be funny, ... but like the fake-punt, you can run those type plays only so often,. It is really bush-league stuff, but if it's allowed who's to say Belichek isn't necessarily a genius for utilizing a portion of the rulebook no one else had the foresight or the gonads to? It's the ol' razzle-dazzle play, :).

Deceptive and smart. I still remember Dan Marino doing it a few times during his career.

Regarding the call - by rule, it wasn't a catch. Unfortunate for the Cowboys, but it was the right call. It was one hell of a play though.

Has it really been the refs, or is it the rules?

They dont. Remember the Seattle game with the replacement refs?
