Well, there's now at least one thing for which I can respect Jason Garrett...
That took some balls to say that to Irving - who probably could use some tough love... |

Garrett would've been fired from any other team for such accomplishing mediocrity at best.
If you ever wondered what it would've looked like for Haslett to remain our coach post 2005, Garrett's tenure in Dallas is a great example. He's the only head coach in the league to be among the longest tenured and NOT reach the conference title game. 2 playoff wins in 8 years.... I have said this before and I will say it again; Dallas winning that last SB in the 90's with Switzer at head coach was the greatest thing to ever happen to the NFL. It "proved" to Jerrah that he really does know more about football than anyone else. This meaning he can truly win with whatever guy he puts in place. If not for this, he probably learns that he really don't know everything and he needs some help and Dallas would've already made it back to a few SBs by now. Dallas currently has a great young defense with loads of potential to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.... but no one has anything to worry about. Garrett is still the head coach and Jerrah is still the owner. I am hoping they repeat playoffs this year so Jerrah in all of his infinite wisdom gets the clapper another contract to keep that team in mediocrity. |
