I think this team can at least get to 9-7.

That's partly why I do not believe in Tampa Bay. I've seen enough of Bruce Arians' offenses to know what to expect. His idea of "drop back and throw bombs" won't go well with Winston who already has a habit of dropping back and doing like Jeff George used to with throwing perfect INTs to defensive backs. |

Re: Browns offense is loaded
Hunt is suspended for a while then, so many egos. Never a good situation when everyone is trying to be a superstar. Chubb is ok. He has one good move, up the right side and that's about it. It will be about the same or worse. They are good on paper but no telling when egos blow up which they will.

But you're prophetic on just how fragile that locker room will be with all those fragile egos and no Joe Thomas to pump the brakes; Kitchens will earn his check... |

Re: Browns offense is loaded
They don't go get Hunt if they thought Chubb was the total package. Chubb wasn't the starter until close to the halfway point. Browns are trying to re-create the Chiefs. I still say too many egos. I like Chubb, good RB but it's hard to win without a great pass catching back which he is not other than one flashy catch. He'll be used mainly as a GL stuffer and spelling Hunt when he returns whenever that happens.

Re: Browns offense is loaded
I think new Browns HC Freddie Kitchens stated it best ...
"We’re better on paper than we were last year,” Kitchens said, via Albert Breer of SI.com. “That doesn’t mean anything other than, we’re better on paper". Time will tell though. |

Re: Browns offense is loaded
RB are inter-changeable. You could have Barry Sanders as your RB and still not win many games as long as your quarterback is below average and your passing offense is subpar (Sanders had 2 years of his whole career where the Lions offense was decent and had good QB play - 1994 and 1995. Still didn't win a playoff game). Just look at how Barkley's big rushing numbers with the Giants didn't translate to an improved passing offense because Eli Manning is still a washed up mediocre quarterback. Too much emphasis is put on RBs.
Mayfield's Y/A was 7.7 last year as a rookie. The QB in Green Bay who set a record for number of times throwing the ball out of bounds to protect his precious, holy TD/INT ratio last year had a 7.4 Y/A. Mayfield also had a significantly lower sack percentage than Rodgers. If Mayfield can improve as a passer in his sophomore year, it won't matter who he's handing the ball off to. They'll survive during Hunt's suspension if their passing offense is clicking. I agree that their biggest problem is going to see how they handle pressure moving forward and with higher expectations. |

Re: Browns offense is loaded
This is Cleveland's schedule -
Titans At Jets (Monday Night) Rams (Sunday Night) At Ravens At 49ers (Monday Night) Seattle BYE At New England (3 PM) At Denver (3 PM) Bills Steelers (Thursday Night) Dolphins At Steelers (3 PM) Bengals At Cardinals (3 PM) Ravens At Bengals Interesting to see that Cleveland managed to get a Sunday night game this year. It's been over 10 years since they last played on SNF. I highlighted the 3 PM games cause those are prim etime slots. Looks like the Browns really are getting the hype and people believe in them, as evidence from the SNF slot and their many prime time games. Hard to really make any predictions on the schedule yet, but it does look like 10-6 is possible. |
