You're incorrect in stating that the majority of fans don't care. Every NFL fan I talk to has something to say about the current state of the NFL. Most agree that the players are becoming insufferable brats.

Now to you ... the only thing that would affect my enjoyment of the game would be if it didn't take place. Anything political before, during or after will not affect that enjoyment whatsoever. I don't care! Most fans don't care. They are the silent majority that always exists in society. It's basic sociology 101. They ask their friends who are the most likely to feel the same way, or at least let on as they do.

I too talk to fans and a few feel as you, but the vast majority just want to have football and beyond that do not let the political ramifications affect that desire.

Dunno. I have a feeling that you really don't want to believe that offending many of the NFL's fanbase by pandering will lead to bad ratings.

No. I know that offending a small number of the fan base will lead to nothing more than frustration by that small number.

You are FAR over estimating your segment of the general public's concern.

Nope. As much as it may disappoint you, interest in the NFL will not decline for any "pandering".

I'll be here this season when you realize that and what to get excited about our Super Bowl run.
