Re: NFL Rating Down
Money has everything to do with everything and that is ok.
Profits need to be made. Profits are from ratings. One source is ratings. NFL cancels ProBowl 2021 from this season. https://sports.yahoo.com/las-vegas-r...185017403.html Getting an audience there, festivities week I guess from Vegas Raiders, special entertainment concerts at the stadium , and selling big tv ads just wont be profitable . ProBowl is never a big ratings show, but I assume having it on LV was to showcase the Raiders new home. Plus, Vegas is a central kind of popular trip place that is not too costly like Hawaii or London. NFL ratings are down, but still very high by all reports out there. NFL , in a ratings battle against itself, still has high ratings, but just lower than what it was. Lots of factors right now for so many various reasons we can list on and on. Reschedule of games. Politics in the game. Pandemic. Election news coverage . Audience not here in the stadiums so the effect is on the hype and excitement. An attachment to the game. And more things. https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/202...atings-tanking https://www.breitbart.com/sports/202...ng-tv-ratings/ Sunday NightFootball did better than NBA Finals . People chose NFL over NBA according to this report. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...154943634.html |

Re: NFL Rating Down
Rating should be up with people at home. They are not and I stated this before the season with FF down. Claiming ratings are down for everything is also false. Many shows have higher ratings so they can't claim it's because ratings are down across the board. Some shows are way up so it does not add up.
Ratings are down for the NFL for bashing police and military end of the day. They chose to die on this hill so they will die on it. Not any harder than that. |

Re: NFL Rating Down
I dont see how NBA ratings dont tank TBH.
Not like it was 1-2 decades ago, championships today are won by buying the best players on the market, like why bother watching when you know the Lakers are gonna win it all? Least it not like this with the NFL despite you know who they want in it at times. |

Ppl are cutting cable cords, there is telecasting and individual sub streams, among many other ways to watch the games. The NFL has seen this, and is/has/will adapt to it. Bottom line, advertisers will still dump their money into the NFL, over pretty much everything else, bc..., Since the 2020 season began, the top 15 most watched shows have been NFL games. I just don’t see it getting any worse than what it is right now. Me not watching won’t amount to a thing, outside of appeasing my own internal conscience, or virtue signaling how patriotic and loving of the police I am.
I won’t bash ppl for not watching, heck I understand it, and in quite a few cases agree with the reasons for doing so. But, the “I’ma boycott <thingamabob>” crowd just isn’t me. I don’t think I’m alone. |

Re: NFL Rating Down
I'm not bashing anyone just stating the ratings would be through the roof if they take politics out of sports for good. Sports unites people and the main reason New Orleans even has a team. They sold it on relieving racial tension. Politics divides everyone.
