Re: Will Deshaun Watson ask for a trade?
Russel Wilson was a third round pick. Dak Prescott a 4th. Rodgers was picked at 24. There is no need to spend a top 10 or so pick on a QB. With the talent on the team under contract (Thomas and Kamara) I feel confident Payton can get a QB moving forward without giving up 4 picks (especially 2 firsts). Not to mention Watson costs lots of money, so say goodbye to Ram or Lat or someone else if they trade for him. I’d keep the picks and use a first for a new QB or go with Winston or Rosen or Donald or someone like that.

You can’t pass up on a kid like Watson if that opportunity presents itself. They already took Lattimore the pick before Watson went off the board. People like Armstead and Cook could walk and open more cap. We’d be fine.

That would be a Herschel Walker type move and it would set the team back for about 3 seasons. I’d give Winston a chance before I did that.

If we were somehow to get Watson, we'd need to get him to reign in his ability a bit to make better decisions. He seems to scramble willy nilly and right into major trouble sometimes that should be avoided. It probably stems from Bill O Brien's inferior coaching.

Re: Will Deshaun Watson ask for a trade?
Let’s assume they’ve both had bad coaching since they’ve been in the NFL. That being said I am wondering what Watson can do that Winston can’t? Both guys are big strong QBs with good arms and both were high draft picks. They’ve both thrown for a lot of yards and TD so far in their careers. Yes Watson’s interception percentage is better than Winston’s but Watson has not had a 5000 yard season either. Winston has had more TDs than INTs every season he’s played. Brett Favre can’t say the same. Couldn’t Winston be coached out of those ints? Just a thought before draft picks are given away.

Take a ticket and wait in line, but unfortunately Watson has strong ties to Georgia which could give the Dirty Birds a bit of an edge.

Re: Will Deshaun Watson ask for a trade?
If O'Brien was still with their organization the Saints would fleece them for Watson. Giving up all those high picks is a mistake.
I'm with Boston Saint. Winston or Rozen would be good to great here plus all the high round picks the Saints keep by not wasting them on one player. |
