Happy Holiday
The passing of Ironhead was sad indeed. Remember this holiday not only as the christening of another summer and for the Indy 500. It is to remember the thousands who gave their lives for what we now call our country today.
Arlington and the Vietnam memorial were both very moving experiences for me. Even more so was visiting the Normandy D Day landing sites and the cemetery there. It is 172 acres and has over 9000 Americans buried there. There are hundreds of brothers and dozens of fathers and sons buried together. They weren't just military personnel. They were soldiers who battled and sacrificed, most during the invasion. Look at this pic, give them a few moments of thoughts, and give thanks. |
