this is a discussion within the NOLA Community Forum; As a cop, this scene isn't too hard to figure out. I crash my sportscar coming home from a bender at 2:30 am. I call a friend to pick me up...FAST! I leave the car before police can show up ...

As a cop, this scene isn't too hard to figure out.
I crash my sportscar coming home from a bender at 2:30 am. I call a friend to pick me up...FAST! I leave the car before police can show up and charge me with a DUI. I get charged with leaving the scene of an accident (or better yet, pay a cousin to say he was driving) and pay a little fine rather than face NFL suspension and lose more money than the car's lease is worth. I call the insurance company and have them cover my loss. No brainer here. |
