Plasma, LCD, Projection?!?!?

I need some tv help guys. I've got the ole ballanchain against the ropes, and she's agreed to a new tv. I started off asking of a flat screen... 27 inches... $500 range. Then I moved to the projection screen, 40-50 inch... $1500 range (size and price varies according to brand, of course). Yesterday, when we were at Best Buy (the greatest store EVER), we saw a Daewoo (sp?) plasma, 41 or 42 inch for around $2200. I made my pitch, and she's THINKING about it! What I need to know is whether or not the brand can be trusted? Is plasma worth the cash? Are projection tvs dinosaurs? Do the pictures hold up?

Throw it at me. What tvs do you have? Would you buy them again? What's the best for the cash? etc.

Help a brother out.
