New Orleans
With RB Deuce McAllister out of the lineup with a high ankle sprain for the next few weeks, sources say this is the real litmus test for how long the Saints will stick with QB Aaron Brooks. Brooks has always been seen by the team as a ball of potential who just needed time to become a leader. But Brooks isn’t a kid anymore  he’s 28  and the time to develop has passed. How Brooks is able to lead the team during McAllister’s absence could be a big factor in just how long the team is willing to be patient with him going forward. Brooks has always struggled when he tries to do too much, and the Saints believe it is time for Brooks to start to mature. He may have taken a step in the right direction last week, when he helped lead the Saints to a 28-25 overtime victory vs. the Rams. In the game, Brooks completed 24-of-41 passes for 316 yards with one touchdown and no picks. [Edited on 29/9/2004 by saintz08] |

My question 08 is how you could possibly misconstrue comments like that from some no-name unreliable source like Pro Football Weekly and suggest that AB is anything other than the best QB in the league.
I mean, it\'s not like AB has one of the most talented RBs in football on his team. Last year that good for nothing Deuce finished 4th in the league in rushing! FOURTH! Can a man get a little help here? And I mean, his receivers can\'t catch anything. Just look at the two starters. They rank 5th and 21st in the league in receiving so far this year. It\'s not like he has the great receivers that Peyton Manning has (3rd and 20th), or that Matt Hassleback has (10th - only 1 in top 30), or that Culpepper has (17th and 19th). I mean, 5th AND 20th?? I mean, there are only TEN teams in the league that don\'t have a top 30 WR and AB only has TWO to work with. And that O-line... they\'re terrible. AB never has time to throw the ball! He\'s been sacked SEVEN times this year!! Maybe if he had the o-line that Culpepper (9), Vick(10), or Bulger(10) had he\'d be perfect. I mean, Hassleback and McNabb have only been sacked SIX times. Look at all the time those guys have to throw. Maybe if AB had that much time to throw he would be able to call the right play or throw a decent deep ball. But he doesn\'t, and Leon can\'t do everything. You CLEARLY have an agenda! How a person could ever question AB is beyond me. If you don\'t think he is the best QB in football today, you\'ve got an agenda. |

Maybe Halo could start \"WhoDat\'s Huddle\" or something on the site? :kerry: |

THIS IS SAD. Aaron Brooks played lights out, and has played at an elite level for several games now and the defeatist moonshiners STILL whine and complain about AB.
This site has gone from fun and entertaining to a petty little hypocritical whiners who get their panties in a knot if anyone speaks well of this team and get an instant stiffy when fellow posters whine and complain along with them, even after a win. This place feels like a DNC website. John sKerry would be proud. |

It\'s not the whole site Danno...just a handful of people who call themselves fans of the team.
I call whodat out on his refusal to acknowledge dropped passes last year when anyone with a brain and a pair of eyes could plainly see it and he (a) admits to finally acknowledging it at the END of the season and (b) uses stats from 3 games this year to bash the QB for what was CLEARLY an issue last year (and still is). If that\'s not an agenda I don\'t know what is. Mention any issue with this team...any one...and 08 will agenda his way to blaming it on Aaron Brooks. This is the guy the moonshiners give credit to for being \"insightful\". Uh huh.
