Revenge of the Sith
Saw the thread in the other forum about Sith and thought I'd start it here. I saw it today and was very pleased. Of course, it's not perfect and there are some things I'd like to have been done differently, but this is more of a classic type of SW movie.
For me, the first 30 minutes or so was the best. The visualizations were unbelievably crisp and well thought out and there was a bit of humor without the fart jokes. The ending was filled with sadness and revelation although I'd still like to know some things. Overall, it has left me with a sense of sadness for the characters involved and that was unexpected. I highly recommend it. btw, In order to say how much I liked here is my ranking of the SW movies from best to worst: Ep5: The Empire Strikes Back Ep4: A New Hope (Star Wars) Ep3: Revenge of the Sith Ep2: Attack of the Clones Ep1: The Phantom Menace Ep6: Return of the Jedi |

RE: Revenge of the Sith
You didn't like Return of the Jedi?
Well I will be seeing it tomorrow. Here is my ranking except Revenge of the Sith 1) The Empire Strikes Back (Come on, is there a better Sci-Fi movie? 2) A New Hope (Star Wars) tie 2) Return of the Jedi 3) The Phatom Menace (Loved it, classic Star Wars, hated Jar Jar, loved the Droid army, great classic fanally, best of all the Jedi fights with Darth Maul whopping jedi butt.) 4) Attack of the Clones (This was my least favorite of all the movies. I have a very low opinion of this movie, and after I watched it on DVD the other night it has some of the worst CGI shots and acting in CGI I have ever seen.) |

RE: Revenge of the Sith
While I might move Jedi ahead of The Phantom Menace, from time to time, it has way to many problems to get any higher than that. It's only redeeming quality is the Duel between Luke and Vader and Vader's Redemption. The rest is rediculous. Jabba is unbelievable as a character. Since when did lightsabers not cut into the opponents but only puch them around as Luke's did at the pit? I could go on and on about Jedi's problems, but I wont.

Also liked revenge of the Sith. Could have used a lot more character development(where did Grievous come from, it took Anakin all of 15 minutes screen time to fully convert to the dark side although it was months in the movie), but I liked it a lot. The scene with Vader at the end was cheesy, but oh well. No movie is perfect.

the most recently made star wars movies are perfect examples of everything thats wrong with the modern motion picture industry. I havent seen Revenge, so ill not rush to judgements here. but as for the first two, has there been a set of movies with less story telling? is there really a point in a directors career he just not explain what things in the film are? also, this movie franchise probably has the pull to bring in just about anyone they would like--- so they brought in hayden christenson to be a whiny juvenile delinquent as opposed to the chosen one/antichrist. to me thats like the saints getting to chose between Elway in his prime or Ryan Leafs sister for quaterback.

The original Star Wars movie was the best. Making a special effect-filled movie today is not a big deal... but making the original Star Wars back in 1975-1976 not only was a feat of technology back then, but the story, the plot, the characters were engaging...
.. I still remember sitting on the 3rd row of the theather, watching the opening scene on a HUGE screen (your average movie theather screen today is about a 4th of what they used to be)... that was something... I don't doubt that Revenge of the Sith is entertaining, and I may watch it when it comes out on video... I have not watched the previous 2, though.. .. I am also dissapointed in that I cannot get the original Star Wars no DVD. |

The original trilogy was released on DVD in Sept. '04. The set includes a bonus disk which was pretty cool. Unfortunately, I don't think they did a great job on the movies when changing formats. I have the trilogy on video from the around '94-'95 and they look much better.
As far as the prequels, the first two are not great movies. Ep2 is better than Ep1. If you're a fan of the original trilogy, then I think Sith is a must see. |

I saw Revenge of the Sith last night. I really loved it. If you haven't seen it you must see this as soon as you can.
