Hornets vs. Pistons Summer League Recap by: Dennis Rogers The Detroit Pistons came out of half-time on a mission as they cruised to an 87-73 win over the New Orleans Hornets. The Pistons outscored the Hornets in the third quarter by nine (22-13) and the fourth quarter by six (26-20) to take control of the game. Amir Johnson led the Pistons in scoring with 18 points (8-9 FG) and seven rebounds. Alex Acker pitched in 15 points (6-10 FG), while Darko Milicic had 14 points (5-13 FG) and seven rebounds. J.R. Smith had a game-high 23 points (8-14 FG, 7-9 FT) for the Hornets. Chris Paul chipped in 13 points, five rebounds and five assists in the loss. The young Hornets backcourt looked in sync through out the game as they hooked up on two alley-oop plays that brought the crowd to their feet in the game. The Hornets had a one point lead at the half, 40-39. Paul had nine points (4-9 FG) and three assists at the half, while Maciej Lampe pitched in with six points (3-5 FG) and five rebounds.
