I said on here after week 9. I was dreading this rematch in the playoffs. We were probably better off just losing to TB week 9 and taking the first WC. Or better yet, we should have rested against Carolina and would have had the Rams and Seahawks, the most beatable team in the playoffs beside the Bears, likely.

Sometimes, winning too much yields losing. There was no HFA in this playoff unless you factor weather, which we did not have an advantage in. It is just unfortunate that it had to end this way.

With that said, I hope Brees does not retire, but I also hope he plays for another team. We are just too stale and lack the energy to get it done for him. He needs a change of pace, as that's what Manning and Brady got and it got them results. But if he retires, he's going out on a very negative note, losing to Brady both in the playoffs and the battle for the TD record. That is a awful way to go.

And as you know, I am not sticking around for the new team if Brees retires. I will be retiring with Drew as a fan of the NFL.
