I am right there with you on how rumors start. I've pointed out that fact myself right here on this very forum. However, as trivial as Russell Wilson attending a gathering as a freshman at NCSU with wounded warrior veterans while dealing with a case of food poisoning might be, I shared it because I knew it to be an interesting fact based upon first hand knowledge from an extremely qualified source. I understand your doubt and that is why also included the provenance to support the anecdote. I'm not sure of the exact timeline, but this may have been during the time that Tim spent with the Sports Information Department at NC State.

As far as my being an azzhole, you do not need some imaginary "Frien" here in Bossier to verify the fact. I have admitted as much right here in this very forum, as well.

:D

I take it you have a tad bit of azzhole in you, as well, no, gosaints?

lol, every now and then, I get an itch. But, on my life, I swear, my smartassedness comes with a smile on my face. That sarcastic humor has not done me a service in the digital domain, so generally I stay away from it. But..., every now and then, the devil on the other shoulder whispers to me.

No problem whatsoever. I'm right there with you. I am a sarcastic azzhole and always have been. It absolutely rubs some people the wrong way and I usually don't give a crap. :D

I honestly think I’ve gone opposite as I’ve gotten older. I’m lucky enough to still have my father alive and I talk to him most every day. We remind each other of conversations we had years past and point out how we both were wrong about things before. It’s taught me to be more open to the idea I may be wrong about something. It’s also taught me that when I am sure I am right to play it close to the vest so to speak. That way I show more composure weather or not I’m right or wrong. I don’t always live up to this, but I try.

Does Ciara like seafood :p?

Seriously speaking I don't believe that there is any 1st rounder(s) in the draft will be even close to Russell. He's a proven winner & special player. Russ in Sean's system … it could be dangerous. More so than the likes of a Desean Watson IMO.

Will it happen? Probably not but I'd love to have Wilson in New Orleans.

Re: Russell Wilson

So, is this a case of rumor becoming fact?

Whatever. As I said in the first post on this thread. The Saints don't have enough to give Seattle for Wilson. Unless you don't want to see a first round draft choice again for a few years.

I'll admit that I've never heard of Lana Parrilla. I had to do a search and am still not aware of anything she has been in.

IMO Russ has at least 4 years left of ELITE QB play with weapons around him & an above average O line.

Consider our last few 1st rounders were Davenport & Ruiz. Would you not be willing to give that up for 4+ years of elite QB play?

In other words, is 2 or 3 1st rounders worth another trophy on the mantle?

Thoughts, comments :bng:?

Could you imagine JP not having a 1st round pick for the next three years to salivate over?

I'd much rather have a proven commodity over picks, but then again I'm not a huge draft groupie so there's that.

Boston Saint 02-25-2021 01:14 PM

Re: Russell Wilson

That’s a tough one Major. I agree with your logic in that a guy like Wilson is probably worth 3 low first round picks. But Another variable in the equation is the dollar price you have to pay Wilson in contract/cap money as an elite QB vs the same cost of 3 first round picks. If they hit on another Ram, Lattimore, and Jordan with those three picks then it’s not worth it. I’d be tempted to risk it though.

I've only seen a bit of Once Upon A Time, but she was on Craig Ferguson, and that's good enough for me

Nope. Not really. I like the young ones that turn out good. But, I'll take a proven player over draft picks any day given the vast majority of drafted players have very minimal impact on a whole. Yes, there can be a remarkable draft class by a team here or there, but that is the exception rather than the rule.

What? The vast majority of NFL starters were... “drafted” by some team, in some year, and at some selective draft position. The can’t have a “minimal impact on a whole”. Overwhelmingly, they ARE the NFL, the starters for sure. Undrafted players are the exception. I truly don’t get what you are trying to say here.

I was begging for him when he was coming out of Wisconsin. Think we didn’t have a 1st or 2nd and Seattle picked before us in the 3rd. I was clamoring for Watson too...and Lamar Jackson. Nobody ever likes my QB choices here. 😂

D'uh! That's a given. Everyone acknowledges that. You completely missed my point. The vast majority of NFL starters were drafted. But, they most likely all make up only around 10% of ALL players drafted over their years in the league ... if that many. The vast majority of drafted players either never make the team (or league) or do not go on to have more than a minimal impact. That's point I was trying to make.

I was begging for him to stay at NC State instead of transferring. I was made aware of his potential way back then. The coach wouldn't guarantee his starting and refused to let him continue playing baseball, as well.

I'd definitely be in your corner if this could happen.

If the Saints were gonna trade for a star QB I was hoping for Rodgers myself sine GB drafted Love.

lee909 02-25-2021 07:52 PM

Re: Russell Wilson

The Saints make to sort of trade needed to get Wilson and they ain't winning no Superbowl. They have to gut the team (cap hits between 30-40ml for 3 years) to get under the cap and not have any 1sts to fill out needed positions.

Add to that Sportsrac has the Seahawks with 28ml in dead money this year
