Re: Russell Wilson
Nope. Not really. I like the young ones that turn out good. But, I'll take a proven player over draft picks any day given the vast majority of drafted players have very minimal impact on a whole. Yes, there can be a remarkable draft class by a team here or there, but that is the exception rather than the rule.

Re: Russell Wilson
What? The vast majority of NFL starters were... “drafted” by some team, in some year, and at some selective draft position. The can’t have a “minimal impact on a whole”. Overwhelmingly, they ARE the NFL, the starters for sure. Undrafted players are the exception. I truly don’t get what you are trying to say here.

The vast majority of drafted players either never make the team (or league) or do not go on to have more than a minimal impact. That's point I was trying to make.

Re: Russell Wilson
As starters or quality backups, yes. But they are few and far between to fill out a quality roster. It will always take a majority of veterans leading the way on successful teams. Those will have to come through free agency at least in part.

Re: Russell Wilson
Yes they do, but their success in drafting is still consisting of far more misses than hits over time. THAT is the nature of the beast. I'll give you that there are outlier years where the majority of picks turn out well.
