CSP and Drew Brees, as a combo, are 9-8 overall in the playoffs. Very simply, just a tad over .500. AG, I’m still not buying the “luck” excuse, lol. Fair enough looking at through that lens. It consider this. Since Payton took over as coach, the Saints are one of a handful of teams that are usually considered playoff contenders to start the season. Green Bay, Seattle, Minn, NE, Steelers, Ravens round out that group. (There are a few other exceptions either way). I’d consider those the “good teams” over the last decade and a half. Obviously you have your “bad” teams to offset that.

Im not going to bother looking up the post season records of other teams now, but using your lens for success, NE is the only team in the NFL that has lived up to their potential. Seattle and Green Bay were both primed to win multiple SBs with their young QBs by now. Pitt hasn’t been close since Roth’s second. Denver and the Niners pop up now and again but fade away with 2-5 win seasons often. You set a very high mark to judge a team not living up to potential.

Regardless, there is Tom Brady, then everybody else..., unfortunately. But, let’s dig a tad deeper.

1) Rothlisberger is 13-9 with 2 SB’s
2) Rodgers is 11-9 with 1 SB
3) Joe Flacco is 10-5 with 1 SB
4) Wilson is 9-7 with 1 SB
5) Brees is 9-8 with 1 SB.

Those are the active QB’s above. Some inactive (retired) QB’s below, who played during the same period of time, aka the Brees era.

1) PManning is 14-13 with 2 SB’s (multiple SB teams)
2) EManning is 8-4 with 2 SB’s
3) Mahomes is 6-2 with 1 SB

There are others like Dilfer who is 5-1 with 1 (one) SB, but we’re getting into smaller sample sets now. So, there are teams that have been around year in/out. But I get your point. Heck, Griese is only 6-5..., but he has 2 SB’s and a “perfect” season.

The records are what the records are, for better or worse. They paint a picture..., but not the entire picture.

I understand we were in a covid season (limited fans), however Tampa made home field look like an after thought. Defeating the Saints, GB & the Chiefs … that was impressive. Got hot at the right time.

The new NFL will get newer and newer and less and less watchable until Godhell is gone.
