Play abroad where? With the shutdown of NFL Europe years ago, I didn't think there were any American football leagues abroad other than the CFL in Canada.

Someone in the NFL will take a chance on Anzalone. There simply are not the options for NFL players that basketball or baseball players have.

I’m not going to hate on the guy. It was a great draft pick and he gave us some really great plays. Things don’t always work out. I feel like he would be great in a 3-4 defense... Maybe with the Pats or Giants.

Anzalone had more than enough time to prove he was capable and never did. Sorry your feelings were hurt but this is football, either perform to the standard or move on.

When he couldn't fall on a simple fumble in the endzone, I was ready to see him gone. If he can't fall on a football, what chance did he have as a starting LB.

And that's a great take on his tour of duty with the Saints...

Actually with the injuries and finally getting the right medical advice and procedures, he was healthy; but he did miss a lot of time and it hindered his development...

When you really parse it out, he did have his chances, but they were limited...

I hate that he feels unwanted. It's a shame about his injuries but that is the NFL. Maybe he will prosper in a 3-4. I hope he gets the chance to find out.

Look at that play a few more times. The football is shaped to bounce strangely and the turf has some bounce itself. The player is wearing hard padding. I would like to see you try the same feat ten times running in and diving for the ball from the same angle and at the same speed with the ball rolling away and others going for the ball, as well, and then gain control before you and it travel a few short feet to the bound line. I'll put my money on the under of five and feel REAL confident.

I'm sorry, but I don't blame him at all for that play any more than an outfielder jumping up to try to steal a homerun ball over the fence and having it careen out of his glove as his arm comes down and hits the top of the wall.

Ive watched the play multiple times but just did again for peace of mind. When Anzalone is there, the ball is almost at a complete stop.

Not wishing to argue, but all I'm hearing is excuses. These guys get paid millions to play a child's game and then say they feel unwanted lol if you aren't doing your job to the standard, you deserve to get questioned, just like any of us in the outside world would be.

I just watched it again myself (multiple times) and the ball absolutely is not nearly at a complete or even partial stop.

It was still rolling at enough of a pace to roll through the end line itself. He's coming in running at near full speed and dives for the ball. In well over fifty years of watching the NFL I cannot even venture to tell you how many times I have seen these professionals dive for a loose ball and not manage to get it under control. It would have been f'ing awesome had he been able, despite the odds, to gain control of the ball in time, but he didn't. Yet, you are claiming that in the spur of the minute there is no way he should have ever failed to gain control of that ball, right?

Anzalone has never given any excuses, nor has he ever claimed to feel unwanted. Perhaps there were musings by others here in this forum and perhaps some dweeb or two in their mother's basement, but I have heard nothing from him or his camp.
