But this Saint showed us the light and the path forward so the journey continues. `

Yes , if this site becomes Atlanta west I’m out a here. The King is gone he was a great king and ruled a reign like no other before him , but let’s be optimistic not like a bunch a bleep bleep the bleep bleep the worlds coming to an end, including myself,.thrust in out front office and coach first then throw them out later,

Don't know how I am so hurt by something we all saw coming, but it hurts none the less.

Godspeed Mr. Brees. Thank you isn't enough.

Going forward, I am sure someone will be found to play the position, but the leadership Drew Brees brought to the team will be difficult to replace.

I think the doom and gloom is because we are losing a lot of talent in general, not just Brees. I think we would have a tough time next year even if Brees played another year at a high level. Injuries have hit us hard in the past but we have been really deep. Not so much this coming year. I do believe in Payton and I think he will be able to coach the team to a winning season but I’m not expecting much more than 7th seed and I’m ok with that. I just hope Payton stays around. If not it’s back to the bottom for us.

Re: Saints QB Drew Brees retires from NFL after 20 seasons: 'I am not retiring from New Orleans'

I was just listening to Doug Flutie talking to Charlie Weis about Drew's retirement and his going to work for NBC. First of all, he'll be in the studio for Sunday night games, not taking Collinsworth's place ... yet. He'll also be doing color commentary for all Notre Dame games. They talked about how much Drew enjoys seeing his boys play ball and how that's going to become more difficult with the TV gig than when he was the Saints QB. The whole argument that he'll have more time with his kids now is flawed since he'll be out of town on Saturdays. Weis said that Brees is going to learn that fast.

Good point. But does a TeeBee gig take more time than Brees' was putting in as QB for the Saints? I remember reading he was reporting at 5AM at Airline Highway.

Reads like a song lyric.

Who's glad we have a competent coach to lead this team in this transition?

Thanks for everything Drew! You put your heart and soul into the Saints and it showed. Never seen a QB with more heart and more drive to succeed.
When the rest of the team was poor, it was still awe inspiring watching him sling the rock and tearing apart defenses.

Enjoy your retirement and once again, thanks for making Saints football exciting.
I agree. I am going your use your post .

I have no complaints, criticism. Nothing.

best wishes for the best, Brees.
