They gave comparisons of how Miami is still looking for a replacement for Dan Marino decades later. The same with Elway until Manning made a brief appearance and now they are back to looking again. The Jets still haven't found the replacement for Namath. They said several other franchises have never even had a QB of that caliber to even replace. They said while Payton can coach anyone, the offense will have to be different because Brees was so special that he could handle that offense. They said there's no way to expect anyone else to step in and execute that offense. And the leadership will be impossible to replace. His ability to lead was unparalleled.
My New Top Item On Bucket List:
Live long enough to see a QB come to New Orleans to replace Drew Brees.
Guess I better see a Doctor, change my diet, start taking huge volumes of vitamins. Gonna be a long haul I'm afraid.

Re: Saints QB Drew Brees retires from NFL after 20 seasons: 'I am not retiring from New Orleans'

So many damn memories he helped create along that great run.
I'm forever grateful for what he brought to the the table as a player on and off the field..True class act if there were ever one man.
The countless times he battled back keeping us in games with the bulk ending up being great comeback W's..
I almost always felt we had a chance with #9 at the helm.
Besides the SB Win,one of my greatest memories was that Monday night game when we beat the brakes off of Crybaby-Brady and Sir Bellicheat, leaving them on the sideline in utter disbelief as we dismantled them leaving them in a wake of destruction and embarrassment lol
We Destroyed the Giants too in similar fashion.
I enjoyed watching our team shut the talking heads you know what's 😎

Enjoy your semi-retirement #9 and enjoy spending some of the loot you earned along the way without being hindered by a beaten, battered ,and bruised up carcass;Although after 20yrs of gridiron play there will be some lingering ailments no doubt.Hopefully not many Peyton and Mickey did a damn good job keeping him upright through the years for the most part.
Best of luck to him on SNF, and well into the future.

His dedication and realness being fueled by a fire many don't and will ever possess was something to take notice and behold for sure.

Alot of added pressure was put in place the last 5 years or so ,with most being self-inflicted knowing the end was approaching faster by every seasons end.
That wasn't easy man.
I wasn't mad he was being allowed to chase another championship.
Don't get me started on the zebra's in easily visible wolves clothing.
Yes,they are truly a pack of inbred Fk-Ups!!

H.O.F needs to get that man's jacket and bronze to the front of the pack.
A true Leader is coming for what's rightfully his.

Thanks for All the memories #9

Again,
Thank You Sir

Brees was still a very important part of the leadership of those teams. Do not underestimate that. I've heard many here say the team was playing to win it for Drew. I don't doubt there's a bit of truth to that. But, the competition level of those opponents was to put it mildly, crappy on the whole. The opponents also didn't have much of a book at all with the QB's in the offense.

Re: Saints QB Drew Brees retires from NFL after 20 seasons: 'I am not retiring from New Orleans'

This has been a weird 24 hours for me. I've been up and down. I thought I had moved through the "phases" a couple of weeks after the playoff loss.
Now I think I may be back at denial. Hah!

I now know what my Dad meant back when I was young and my Dad said, "I don't know who I'm going to hang my hat on now." When Dale Earnhardt died.

My father is from Michigan. Moved here to the south when he was a kid. So he has stayed a Lions fan. That's his roots. We had a ton of fun watching Barry Sanders together.

Anyway, through the years he has been pulling for the Saints because he says, Drew is a great player and an even better person.

So now, I don't know who to hang my hat on. It has been that man for the last 15 years.

You'll know it when you see it. Mine was Hank Aaron and then Pete Rose. Then Greg Maddux and Chipper Jones. The came Drew who made me forget baseball. I was always a Saints fan because of my move to Louisiana back in the Spring of 1967, but Drew took it over the top.

Loved Glavine and especially Smoltz, but those others were my difference makers.
