That's sounds good. Haven't had one in a couple of years. Fertitta's Deli in Shreveport and Cascio's Bistro Market here in Bossier both have good ones. The bread is the key, I think.

Gonna make egg rolls this weekend

I’ve got a sudden change of plans. Egg rolls are scrapped. I’ve been asked to make gumbo for 12 people in exchange for the fee of the poker tournament going on tomorrow.

My phone ringtone is When the Saints go marching in and my text notification is Voo Doo child. And I’d love some hush puppies. I remember Ralph and Kakoos used to serve up great Hush Puppies.

If you ever get to Nashville Hattie B's is a must. Home of the famous Nashville hot chicken!

Gonna grab a burger. I’m personally really bummed. I know we all have issues in life and this may not seem like a large thing compared to hurricanes or marital problems or health issues...but I just 20 minutes ago had to put down a pet I’ve had for over 20 years. He was a cat named Shea Stadium and he’s been my second closest companion for almost half my life. God just got himself one hell of a cat! I’m gonna drown my sorrows and have a meal.

Sorry to hear that man. I lost my blue heeler, Rocker, a decade ago. I can't bring myself to get another dog, even today. He was my partner.

So anyway I can relate. Hang in there.

Me too Halloween.

What kind of dog do you have? I have a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff) & he's 2.

It's called a Great Bernese now, also about to turn 2.

Tough to hear... I had to do the same for mine three years ago. He was only 8.5 years old, had thromboembolism. I haven't had a pet since. The temptation to get another is strong in the beginning.

Sorry to hear about the cat, Boston. We have two ourselves. Both were local strays that adopted us. Installed chip sensor cat doors so they can still come and go, but both spend much of the day with us inside.

I'm with Boston on the burger for dinner. But I'm cooking mine at home. I love grilling but man, it's so cold....! Next time it will be rib eyes. Sorry about your cat Boston. Pets are people too. At least that's what my coffee cup says.

So cold? What temps are you facing? We are predicting 8-12 inches of
snow starting in about 3 hours. Just chopped some wood and gassed up the snow blower in prep. Gonna head to the store for supplies (meat and beer) for the weekend. Thinking about making chili.

About time someone else got snow, this lake effect has me working to hard. Today it's below 0-3 degrees but sunny so I'm shoveling off the back deck and firing up the grill ( guess I love to torture myself) and cooking burgers.

Ain’t it a beach when those super-cold, crisp days are bright and sunny with blue sky’s? It’s a weird feeling.

I mean burgers are good. Chicken wing was a freudian slip maybe.

It's thirty degrees right now. To me that's cold and why I live in the South below I-10 which to me is the Mason Dixon line. Stay warm everyone.

We're expecting about 12 inches of snow fall during the night and early morning and we have plenty on the ground already.

LOL. I did the same thing when we lived in New Hampshire. Those yankees thought I was crazy. But when you have a rib-eye, the only way to cook it is to grill it.

Just Curious, Boston Saint. When snow is predicted do the stores get wiped out of milk and bread like they do here in Indy ? Never understood it. Not like we get snowed in for days at a time.

Not really. They do a good job of road service and stocking up. Shelves are more bare on Thanksgiving and by far.

Shrimp with cocktail sauce for starters, then beef kabobs for the main. Sweet tea with lemon to wash it down.
