Precedent states that bonuses paid and expensed in later periods will still count against the cap just as if the player was dropped, traded, retired, or died. See Aaron Hernandez for an example with the Patriots. I read that the basic morality clause in the standard contract is so muddled that it carries little to no weight in this type of potential case.
