I think its harmful to the success of the Saints franchise that their most trafficked fan forum in Saints Report runs a China-style censorship operation which controls, hampers, and misrepresents the variety of fans views and sends a false message to the Saints that 101% fan consensus is to resign and extend everyone and always win now and always trade up and mortgage the future. Thats the view of the admins of that forum, but they use their position to mostly block other views from being expressed, and their position is strong and influential as many of the fans calling in to radio shows and discussing the Saints around the watercooler are influenced by that site. I hope one day their site traffic is zero and sites like this are on top instead because I think that will benefit the team and fans.

I am not hung up on it and I am gonna go hiking today and see some wildflowers maybe, but everyones got to vent sometimes. Venting done.
The franchise couldn't care less about what any fan thinks about how they handle their business. Nor should they. The people making the decisions are not likely to even be with the franchise in a few short years. It is their job to do what they feel is best to win as soon as possible. You and I might be associated with the team for life, but for the front office and coaching staffs, they are nothing more than transient workers for which short term success weighs FAR more heavily than future success. And it is becoming more so every passing year.

I've checked it out. From what I had seen, it's comprised of a bunch of squabbling, snobby brats. We've got one guy that posts like they do here and that's enough.

Saints report is full of holier than thou people who criticize everyone for everything. Lot's of haters over there. When the bng server was down it felt like SR was my only option for Saints info. When I got back I posted a thread about how much more civil we are here. I have friends here! Just my two cents.

I like this forum way more than Saints Report. There’s a lot of sniping on Saints Report. It seems to me that fans on this forum are better able to disagree with an opinion without resorting to being disrespectful.

Bako..go ahead and vent, it’s your right and I appreciate you doing so. Not sure what happened between you and your posts and saints report. I have no reason to like or dislike that site. Sorry for tabbing you for drunk posting. Lord knows I’ve done that enough in my short time here.

Re: Apologies to Saints Report

Dumb post. So you are writing an I told you so thread because we wound up in a bind? You would have rather rebuilt than watch the Saints contend for a Super Bowl the last 3 years? No, we didn’t get another Lombardi but we did get to watch a hell of a lot of great football. We all knew it would eventually come to an end. If we would have traded all the players you listed we would’ve been watching another string of 7-9 seasons.
Some of you guys think it’s easy to just rebuild and be right back in the thick of things, it’s not. Obviously a lot of people are too young to remember the pre Brees/Payton era.
As for Saintsreport, it’s full of children who have very little football knowledge. Last year there was a 200 post thread full of people who were absolutely convinced we were going to trade to get Joe Burrow.
I got banned because I said “Reggie Bush isn’t an every down back.” That was it, no smart ass comment, nothing.
