It seemed that Vick only really cared about improving his passing in his second stint, in which he did improve a lot.

Lamar, to me, is light years ahead of where Vick was at that point.

I like Lamar but Vick fought dogs and to me he is scum of the earth. He may have gone to jail but I don't think I can forgive him for animal cruelty. I'm glad he's out of the league. Him and his stupid cousin were never that good.

Oh 100%, animal cruelty is something he'll never be forgiven for and never deserves to be. Dogs are some of the most loyal creatures on this planet and for him to do what he did was sickening.

The older I get the more I realize that I'm not as great as I'd hoped to become. The Messiah said "He who is without sin, cast the first stone". I was disgusted at the news of Vick and his treatment of animals but the man paid his price and made a valiant efffort at a return to football. Who am I told think or say that he deserves nothing better than an awful life for his transgressions?

Also, Aaron Brooks was a part of New Orleans first playoff win so he'll always have a special place in my heart. That win meant so much to me since they had a history of never living up to expectations. Stupid 49ers.
Haslett didn't do Brooks any favors, either.

Vick fought dogs, NO. What Mike did was allowed dog fighting to happen on property that he owned. Which is wrong. Mike kept his mouth closed to a lot of high profile people that also participated in dog fighting and fell on the sword solo. Remember when people came out and defended Vick e.g Clinton Portis and said “ that’s what we do in the hood”. As soon as things got serious, meaning jail time, no one said anything. Vick took the fall and didn’t name names.
The Queen of England races horses. When one is injured what do they do, Death is the solution. Death is Death, no matter how you get there.
The only difference in dog fighting and horse racing is a do-rag vs a fancy hat. Animals suffering at the pleasure of humans.
REMEMBER before I’m torn apart, I did say dog fighting is wrong.

This is the same as Bountygate vs the Eagle’s Gopher program.

Sorry cmike, can’t agree with your horse racing/dog fighting take at all. Yes, injured horses are put down, but that’s hardly the same. We can start with the fact that one is legal, one isn’t. Horses, for the most part, are not hurt by racing them (they run all the time in pastures). Dogs are designed to be hurt by fighting them. There were stories of drowning and electrocuting dogs that did not meet standards at Vick’s place. That is not done to horses. Your comparison is like saying a fight between two professional boxers is the same as a bully beating the crap out of a weaker kid in a school bathroom.

Legality shouldn’t be the measuring stick. It’s people being entertained by a sport where animals are injured due to humans being entertained. Cannabis is legal in most states and not in some. Imagine being a inmate in Alabama on a Weed possession charge. That’s gotta suck.
Imagine being a Saint fan and your team and coach get penalized by a program that the entire league practices.
Horses are breed to be ran. Ain’t nobody breeding pitbulls to be family pets.

LEGAL. Alcohol prohibition never ended. The courts just stopped enforcing penalties and it forced the laws to be changed.

Dog fighting is wrong.

If Vic allowed dog fights on his property that is wrong and inexcusable. I firmly believe that he was watching and liking it if he allowed it to continue after he came in to money. To me that is simply unforgivable. Yes, I agree that people make mistakes in life and then pay the price then hopefully they do better. But there is something about cruel people that I can't forgive. It's a lowlife form of entertainment. jmho

As for racing and dog fighting, I'm an equestrian who spent many hours in the saddle and love to watch the horse run. I've seen one greyhound race and was disgusted because they don't get much medical or personal attention unlike horse owners who treat them like royalty. I felt degraded just watching. It's two different environments but way better than sadistic dog fighting where they don't get proper medical attention. I respect peoples opinions unless their dog fighters.
