Players want more pay, an extra game check is more pay. The teams want more cap space, an added game brings in more revenue and softens cap space issues due to reduced stadium revenue. If the frikken morons didn't learn from the 2011 CBA that voting for more compensation and ignoring the fact that they made Goodell judge and jury, it is on them. Not the first time DeMaurice Smith has represented the players poorly yet the players keep voting him in as director of the Players Association. Don't hate on the league, the players wants and piss poor voting are what drives this sh1t. |

You won't see the backup linebacker who plays special teams complaining about the extra games. And there's a lot more of them in the league than superstar QBs, RBs, CBs, and WRs. SFIAH |

When you join a union there is no different faction, it is called a union for a reason. The CBA is one deal that marries higher wages and potentially more games. Players don't get to cash a bigger check then cry about 60 more minutes of work and if you buy that crap I have a snow skiing resort for sale in Hawaii. |

There are people who did not want the 17th game. The issue was voted upon. They lost that vote. You really believe because the majority voted for an issue that the dissenters lost their right to complain about it? SFIAH |

Adults take good and bad and move on, otherwise they can resign and do what ever other skill set they possess. This is being framed inaccurately as the league did not add a game. The league moved a preseason game to the regular season. 2020 was 4 preseason and 16 regular, 2021 is 3 preseason and 17 regular. Total preseason+regular season games in 2021 will be the same as 2020. Ergo they aren't playing more for less money, one could very much argue that the only change is that 1 game that didn't count against their regular season record, now does. The point is that they want their cake but do not want to clean their plate. They stand sportively behind the union when it adds $ to their paycheck but move one game from preseason to regular season and the fans have to read about complaining. This is a whole lot of drama over what accounts to 0-more games per season being played. They took the 4th preseason game where starters play and made it count on the record... This is what the league knows, their game costs are pretty much fixed by stadium. Changing the classification of a game from "pre" to "regular" season increases interest and revenue exponentially. ![]() |
