Saints | Fontenot Uncertain - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com) 6:25 PT: The Times Picayune reports New Orleans Saints C Jerry Fontenot is not sure if he'll re-sign with the team. He and the Saints are far apart in salary talks. Saints officials say they want to re-sign Fontenot, but they are prepared to go in a different direction if he does not lower his salary demands. "They've said they want me back, but I'm disappointed with their first offer, their only offer so far," said Fontenot. "It's near league minimum for a veteran." Said Saints GM Mickey Loomis: "We want Jerry back, and I'll leave it at that." |

Typical - they\'re screwing Fontenot just like they screw every other veteran.

If Fontenot isn\'t back for the new season because he\'s pissed at not getting the right money, I\'m ready to join the Loomis-is-a-fool crew.
Don\'t pay Lassiter 3 million. Who is Jon Stinchcomb? I like Polamalu, he was the Saints pick at #18 in my first mock draft, but he is slipping a bit as other defensive players look very good at their Pro Days. Depends on who else is still available, but he may be a good pick in the second round. Signing Fontenot is a priority and will have more impact than any of those four (you\'ll see what I mean if they don\'t sign him). |

Fontenot certainly \"excites\" me. So does Lee Flowers. Although I have to admit, I was happy to see the signing of Sloan last year. When was the last time we HAD a good tight-end? Hoby Brenner?
Does anyone know if Terrelle Smith has re-signed? |

Gator, you know I believe in building with key free agents, signing your own key returners, and filling in the slots with the draft. We need impact now.........drafts may be the future. A bird in the hand. Draftees finally reach a point to create an impact and then their contracts are over. Decision time. Which means more money and the cycle starts all over again.
