My thoughts on Saints “next” QB
I think I mentioned this during last season. Going with Hill/Winston this year is a given. However, unless one of them (Winston in my opinion) shows he is the man of the future (a distinct possibility IMO), I would get the starting QB for the 2022 season from...the Packers. Weather it be Rodgers or Love, I don’t see GB having both them on the roster after this year. I would pull the trigger on a trade that brought Rodgers to New Orleans for 3 or so seasons...or Love for longer. Thoughts?

I agree with Rez. Not sure if we could make that happen though.

Re: My thoughts on Saints “next” QB
I don't think that we'll draft our future QB this year. Payton likes to get players with some experience and training so that he can refine them and not have to build them from the ground up. Look at most of our QB's Payton has brought in. They were vets with potential.
So far, because of Drew we never needed to draft an immediate starter. We pick so low at 28 that the BPA won't be a QB because we have so many holes to fill in the draft. I think it's like 10 positions for 8 draft picks. |

Re: My thoughts on Saints “next” QB
I don't think Rodgers is willing to sit on the bench for a year. We could possibly move Teddy in a trade for a late round pick. Rodgers is good but he's awfully cocky. I like Drew because he is humble and phenomenal. I'm not a fan of his but I would be happy to see him throwing to Mike Thomas and handing the ball off to AK for a few years.

Re: My thoughts on Saints “next” QB
In that Saints offense ? Add another burner WR & we're set. Even if the defense took a step back, you'd always have a chance to put up points in a hurry with ARod.
Still mobile & can make all of the throws. 4300 yards, 48/5 td/int ratio & a 121 % QB rating for 2020. Hell yeah, I'd take Rodgers. I'm not the biggest J Love fan either. Probably not likely to see ARod in NO though . |
